The Mother Behind The Mission
Before there was 2Wanda Brands, there was a mother learning how to understand, navigate, rebuild, and create a better path forward.
My journey began through motherhood, responsibility, challenges, and the determination to create a better future for my family.
What started as a personal journey became the foundation for a framework, a mission, and an ecosystem designed to help others find clarity, direction, and purpose.
My Story
Motherhood Was My First Classroom
I became a mother at 17 years old. My journey began with my two biological children and later expanded through foster care when I became a foster parent and ultimately adopted five children. That is how I became a mother of seven. Motherhood became my first classroom. Raising children with different needs, including children with special needs and neurodivergent experiences, taught me lessons no classroom could teach. I learned that behavior communicates. I learned that every situation has layers. I learned that before we respond, we must first understand. I had to learn how to listen differently, observe beyond what was visible, advocate through systems, and make decisions that impacted my children’s futures.
Building a Business to Serve Others
My passion for supporting children and families led me to entrepreneurship. I created my first childcare business serving children with special needs and families who needed understanding, care, and support. I was not only navigating systems for my own family. I became someone helping other families navigate them too. I was building. I was serving. I was creating something meaningful.
The Lesson That Changed How I Viewed Business
Then my health changed. I was diagnosed with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), a condition that affected my body and my ability to continue operating my business the way I once had. Eventually, I had to step away. That season revealed one of the greatest lessons of my entrepreneurial journey. I realized I had created a business, but I had not yet created systems. My business depended on me being physically present. When I could not show up, the business could not continue in the way it needed to. That was the moment I understood: A business cannot only depend on the person who created it. A sustainable mission requires systems, structure, clarity, and the ability to continue beyond one person.
Rebuilding
My health journey changed me, but it did not define me. It taught me resilience, adaptation, and capacity. I learned that rebuilding is not starting over. Rebuilding is taking what you have learned, understanding what matters, and creating something stronger. Through motherhood, health challenges, entrepreneurship, and leadership, I began recognizing the same principles repeatedly: Understanding must come before action. Clarity must come before direction. Alignment must come before progress.
Walking Through Every Side of the System
My experience has allowed me to see systems from multiple perspectives. I have been a mother advocating for her children, a foster parent and adoptive parent, a childcare provider serving families, an entrepreneur building services, a person navigating personal challenges, and a professional working within human service systems. I have experienced what it means to need support. I have experienced what it means to provide support. That perspective shapes how I serve today.
The Origin of the Orientation Method™
Before it had a name, I was already using The Orientation Method™. I used it inside my own home. I learned to ask: What is happening? What is influencing this? What information is missing? What support is needed? What is the responsible next step? Through years of experience, reflection, mistakes, growth, and perseverance, I realized I had developed a way of understanding people and systems that could help others. That became The Orientation Method™.
Behavior is Data. Capacity is Mental Fitness. Purpose is Design.
Building 2Wanda Brands
I always carried the vision for 2Wanda Brands. The vision existed before the structure. Through every experience, every challenge, and every lesson, the pieces began connecting. 2Wanda Brands became an ecosystem built around behavioral health, workforce development, leadership, education, mentorship, consulting, and community impact. At the center is a simple belief: Before we change outcomes, we must understand what creates them.
Remember Who You Are™ and Loc’d In Self-Love™
My journey was not only about learning how to serve others. It was also about remembering myself. There were moments when giving up felt easier. But I had to continue. My children needed me. My purpose required me to keep building. Remember Who You Are™ became the message that brought me back to my foundation. And Loc’d In Self-Love™ became the expression of what happens when we live from authenticity, alignment, and purpose. When we remember who we are, we become capable of pouring into others.
Building The Next Generations of Mentors
Through Loc’d In Self-Love™, the vision expands into mentorship. The goal is to develop mentors who can support individuals and families navigating behavioral health, DDD, child care, DCS, and human service systems. Because lasting change does not only come from programs. It comes through people. People who understand. People who serve. People who walk beside others.
Legacy
Today, the journey continues. My children who started this journey with me are now adults. They have grown, overcome challenges, and are building their own lives. Watching them thrive reminds me that the work of nurturing, supporting, and guiding continues across generations. My purpose was never only about raising my own family. It was about creating pathways for others. Through 2Wanda Brands, I am building a place where people can begin, rebuild, grow, and return when they need clarity and direction. A place where understanding comes first. A place where purpose has structure. A place where people can remember who they are.
